Empty spaces, barren tiles
I looked up and down at the walls and smiled
They stood there bare, without conceit
Hollow and spare and yet complete.
Lifeless and limp, and yet I swear
I could almost hear them whispering there
A language I had never known
and yet there words were somehow my own...
They smiled as they saw me frown,
it was their turn now to look me down
clothed, and fake and pretense they saw
and mocked me for who I now was
I took my revenge, and bought some paint
So now we were both alike and taint
And then I sat in silence and smiled
at the truth that I had wickedly reviled...
